SNA Board Member Roles

President:
-The president has a general knowledge of roberts rules and conducts all business and board meetings.
-The president schedules and arranges to have rooms for those meetings at the beginning of each semester.
-It is the president's role to plan each convention trip...spread the word, get head counts, and arrange all travel.
-As president, you are expected to attend all conventions, national and state level, on behalf of the Grand Valley State University Student Nurses Association. Keeping in contact with state board and filing for constituency status each year is just a few of the ways to stay connected with the national student nurses association.
 
Vice President: 
-Accede to the office of president in case of vacancy in the office.
-Assume the duties of the president in the absence or disability of the president
-Is head of the fundraising committee, and all that entails.
-Is in charge of the school uniforms and ordering
-Perform other duties as assigned by the president.
 
Secretary:
-The secretary holds NSNA membership.
-Maintains attendance records.
-Records and posts GVSU SNA's meeting minutes
-Chairs Historian commitee (incharge of scrapbooking and being creative!)
 
Treasurer:
-Keeps track of money coming in and out.
-Makes a year, month, and student senate budget.
-Plans the budget for the uncoming conventions.
-Also, the co-chair of the T-shirt committee and keeps records of memberships.
 
BTN Director:
-Maintains the Mentor/Mentee program
-Works with faculty to help restart and build the Ambassador program to what it once was.  
-Once the Ambassador program is once again started, BTN Director will also be acting as KCON Student Ambassador to local secondary/primary schools, organizations within the community, and prospective students who desire information regarding the nurse profession in general or KCON in particular. 
-Acts as a facilitator for KCON students seeking career and education advancement information."
 
Community Wellness Director: 
-Works with local volunteer agencies to provide SNA members with volunteer experiences that will enrich their nursing education here at GVSU.
-Responsible for tallying the LIC points at the end of each semester.
-Scheduling the CPR certification courses, help to plan health fairs and other health-related events.
-Chairs the volunteer committee as well.
 
Website Director:
-Responsible for the flow of this website, and everything contained in it.
-Updating the website often with new information from meetings and upcoming events.
 
Membership Director:
-Acts as a resource for NCLEX review course.
-Arranges special speaker events.
-Maintains record of student's membership status.
-Helps with uniforms.
 
Curriculum Director:
-Very in depth look at the workings and details of our college's curriculum.
-Attends curriculum meetings with tenured and adjunct faculty every other week during the semester to review each class: the positives, negatives, new information to be added and old to be weeded out. 
-Curriculum Director is to be a voice for the students when it comes to changing anything from course content to class hours.
-This is an excellent position for anyone who has any future interest in teaching or administration in a college or health care setting.
