The SNA meeting was called to order at 12:02 pm by Jessica Lerch, President.

VI. Officer Reports:
A. President
a. An announcement was made of our SNA accomplishments at MNSA convention. Congratulations to our entire SNA and
all those involved.
b. NSNA attendees were asked to please meet Jessica after the meeting.
c. An announcement was made for the scrapbooking committee to please start taking pictures and documenting THIS
YEAR – include everything from convention to volunteer work. Thank you!
d. Treasurer - Seay’s CHS committee was asked to meet Jessica
following the general meeting for an update.
B. Vice President
- A reminder was made that T-shirt order forms are due TODAY by 5pm. Please DO NOT give order forms
and money to the student workers in CHS 305. Thanks!
C. Secretary
a. The announcement was made that a women’s self defense class is coming to CHS. It is
to be held in four sessions on March 17, 24, 31, and April 7. This session is sponsored through the GVSU Women’s
Center and costs only $5.00. More information at www.gvsu.edu/pewsecurity (click on RAD link), contact instructor Kari Balcom at balcomka@gvsu.edu, or check the SNA blackboard site where Dr. Linda Scott
has posted a similar link.
b. The Charity
Ball committee members present were asked to meet with Heidi and Sally in the front of the room for a brief update after the
general assembly.

E. Membership Director
a. The announcement was made that SNA was able to sell several of our homemade badge reels at MNSA
convention, and will continue to collect medication vial caps.
b. Keep in contact
with Chintan if you have any questions about the upcoming Relay for Life event. An announcement
was made regarding the next Relay Team Leaders meeting, if anyone would like to attend, it will be February 22 at 9pm in Kirkhof.
F. BTN Director
- The BTN committee was asked to meet with Megan after the general
assembly.
G. Website Coordinator
- The announcement was again made to please view the SNA website,
gvsusna.com, there have been helpful changes made including a page of volunteer opportunities, useful forms, and information
about your SNA!

J. Evaluations
- An announcement was made for those yet to present in the NUR 120/220 classes to meet Michelle
following the general meeting.
VII.
Additional Announcements
a. Dean McCurren visited our SNA meeting today to present a thank-you card and give her congratulations and express
pride and gratitude, on behalf of all the faculty, for our SNA involvement and accomplishments even to the state level. Thank
you, Dean McCurren, for joining us and for your compliments!
b. The announcement was made that Dr. Mupepi has been looking into creating a room for breastfeeding
mothers at CHS. There is such a facility on the Allendale campus, but nothing has been
established at CHS. Dr. Mupepi is looking for student support, feedback and ideas at this point. A general consensus was made at the meeting that this is a worthwhile venture to pursue and the floor was opened to several
student comments. Please feel free to contact Dr. Sylvia Mupepi about this project.
c. The announcement was made by delegate Sandra Sepulveda that a UN documentary will be showing next Thursday,
Feb. 25 at 7:30 in Allendale, and next Friday, Feb. 26 at 7:30 at the Pew Campus.
d. The announcement was made by the Jessica Lerch, President, that slating for open board positions will be held
at the next general meeting. Delegates are encouraged to contact a current board member if at all interested in taking on
a new leadership position for the next semester.
e. Several trivia questions were asked and prizes from MNSA convention given away to the winners. Congratulations
– way to know your SNA information!
f. NUR 451 faculty member, Mary Bollman, expressed interested and support for starting a Haiti fundraiser/relief project in which she would provide buckets to fill with goods
for Haiti, and would provide postage as
well. The SNA board plans to discuss this and determine how best to go about this opportunity.
g. Nicki Grinstead and Nancy Schoofs will be holding a resume/cover letter
workshop on Wednesday, Feb. 17 from 3-4 pm, and Monday, Feb. 22 from 3- 4
pm, in CHS 127.
