Committees

 

Each delegate is required to be actively involved in one committee. This means that you are attending the meetings of your committee to help plan events and/or develop ideas. Also, you must attend at least one SNA sponsored event each semester in addition to being on the committee. Each delegate will need to sign up for a committee to participate in.

 

Bylaws

Bylaws committee is well versed in the inner workings of SNA. The committee reads through the bylaws and looks for adjustments to be made. The proposal for adjustments is made at the general meeting and the delegates vote on the proposal.

Fundraising

Fundraising is in charge of T-Shirt orders! The orders are collected two weeks after they are dispersed. This committee helps the VP with sorting forms for ordering and sorting items when they are completed and ready for pick up.

Break Through to Nursing (BTN)

The BTN committee is involved in reaching out to people interested in nursing. The Girl Scout event is a huge event that this committee organizes. If you want to make a difference and represent nursing in a positive way, this is the committee for you!

Community Wellness (LIC)

The community wellness committee is in charge of finding volunteer opportunities for the KCON students and calculating the volunteer hours into LIC points at the end of the semester.

Scrapbook

Scrapbook committee is in charge of documenting the semester's events across the different cohorts in a creative way. If you like to take pictures and scrapbook, you will fit in here. The time commitment is as much or as little as you like, depending on what events you photograph. We will meet once or twice to assemble the scrapbook.

Resolutions

Resolutions committee is the ultimate "make a difference" committee. The work that this committee does can ultimately go to the state and national legislative levels to make changes in the nursing profession.

The CHS committee is in charge of keeping our bulletin board up to date and reaching out to prospective GVSU nursing students. The time commitment for this committee is very little.

Nursing in the News

Evaluations Director: Michelle Firlit, evaluations.gvsusna@gmail.com

The Nursing in the News committee looks to keeping our oganization up to date on the happenings in the nursing community. This committee is working on getting SNA recognized in the Lanthorn and other publications. Also, they like to inform the 120 and 220 classes about the types of nursing that are flourishing at the present time. The meetings are once per month after general meetings and they last about an hour.

Charity Ball

The charity ball committee aims to have members from each semester to plan the Annual Spring Fling Charity Ball. This is an important event and planning starts in the fall and goes up until the event that takes place in either March or April. The fall time commitment entails a minimum of once per month meetings. The spring time commitment entails weekly or biweekly meetings. More meetings take place when the event date gets closer.

Student Ambassadors

Students wishing to become ambassadors need to fill out an application. If chosen, being an ambassador satisfies a delegate's committee requirement. The time commitment is as much or as little as you want to commit to.
