The Mentor/Mentee
Program
The
Program
The Mentor/Mentee
Program is designed to connect nursing students with one another. The goal is to partner a nursing student that is “just
starting out” in the program with a student that is farther along in the program. The Mentor is
meant to offer guidance, encouragement, and answer questions about the nursing program. Once partnered, the Mentor and the Mentee will decide the course of their relationship. This would include: communication
type (e.g. Do you want to meet face to face or communicate through email or both?), time commitment, etc.
Qualifications
to be a Mentor
Must be in
at least NUR 350
Positive attitude
about nursing and the nursing program
Willing to
take the time to communicate with your Mentee
Qualifications
to be a Mentee
Enrolled in
NUR 120, 220, 315, 320, 350, or 420
Willing
to communicate with your Mentor
Points
to remember
This is meant
to be a professional relationship. Your time spent meeting as Mentor/Mentee is not time for a gossip session about professors.
You can be
both a Mentor and a Mentee. For example, if you are in NUR
350 and sign up to mentor an underclassman, you can also sign up to be mentored by someone farther along in the program.
This is not
LIC point approved.
