Student Nurses Association Meeting Minutes

I.                   Call to order at: 12:03

 

II.        Roll Call:  The roll call was taken by Lisa Tenhavee, Evaluations.

 

III.             Those Present: President-Megan Keller, Curriculum Director-Claire Dziewit, Community Wellness –Leah Wozniak, Membership- Renee Poelman, BTN Director-Christina Schwarz, Evaluations-Lisa Tenhavee, Faculty Advisor - Nancy Schoofs.

 

Those Absent: Sara Klein, Amy Snooks, Danielle Smith, Dawn Pohl, Ali Belmonte, Kristen Winkler, Jennifer Pelky and Breanne Rillema were absent with notice, excused. Erika Eichbauer, Julie Koll, Lindsay Aleccia, Autumn Thelen, Laura Leone, Bethany Michowski, Angela Flasck and Kelli Cross were absent without notice, unexcused. Amy McMillan was absent without notice, excused.

 

IV.              Officer Reports:

- Samantha Hasso was nominated for the treasurer position and along with Shannon spoke about why they are qualified for there positions.

The new Fall 2008 board are President Shannon Cregeur, Vice President Danielle Smith, Secretary Sara Klein, and Treasurer Samantha Hasso.

- Jenn Lavine and Janelle VanHorn, who were previous nursing students at Grand Valley, spoke at the meeting and answered questions.

A.     President

- T-shirts are in! They can be picked up Thursday in room CHS 311.

- The winners of this week’s gas giveaway were Sarah Hirsh and Sasha.

      B.  Treasurer

                        - The SNA is paying for an NCLEX review for a NUR 450 student who is in need right now. The review costs $350 and was unanimously approved by the board.

                  C. Community Wellness

                                    - LIC Points are due on July 11^th by 5:00pm. No emailed or late forms will be accepted.

                                    - There will be two evening events for the Ronald McDonald house. Please contact Leah at community.gvsusna@gmail.com for more information regarding this event.  

D. Curriculum

- There will not be a Kyss Walk this year and if you have any ideas for a new focus pertaining to this position please email Claire Dziewit at curriculum.gvsusna@gmail.com.               

                  E. BTN Director

                                    - The girl/boy scout event will be held on November 15^th from 9:00am-12:00pm and volunteers are needed. A sign up sheet will be passed around at a later date.

                                    - The state website, www.minurses.org/mnsa, is giving away gas cards and awards and scholarships. They also have other scholarship resources to check out.

                  F. Evaluations

                                    - Lisa has $2.00 window clings and $4.00 retractable name badge holders. If you are interested email her at  evaluations.gvsusna@gmail.com. Also could the delegates please announce this to your classes. Thanks!
