Call to order at: 12:08
II. Roll Call: The roll call was taken by Sara Klein, Secretary.
III.
Those Present: President-Megan Keller, Vice President-
Danielle Smith, Secretary -Sara Klein, Treasurer-Amy McMillan, Membership Director-Renee Poelman, Curriculum Director-Claire
Dziewit, Community Wellness –Leah Wozniak, BTN Director-Christina Schwarz, Evaluations-Lisa Tenhavee, Website- Amy Snooks,
Faculty Advisor - Nancy Schoofs, Staff Advisor-Ron Perkins.
Those Absent: Alison Belmonte, Amanda Elam, Lindsay Aleccia, Jennifer Pelky, and Breanne Rillema were absent without
notice- unexcused. Kristen Winkler was absent with notice- excused.
IV.
Officer Reports:
A. President
- The bylaws/resolution
committee did a skit where they explained the meaning of bylaws and resolutions. They defined bylaws as “associations
of policies that structures organizations.”
- NUR 450 is selling
alumni shirts and tote bags this semester. The tote bags cost $15.00 each and if you are interested in buying one, order forms
are on the BB website and need to be turned in by June 25th in the president’s mailbox in room CHS 305 no
later than 5:00pm. Any questions/concerns can be directed to Rebecca Harris at harrireb@student.gvsu.edu.
- Slating
and elections took place during the meeting. The open positions are president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. Those
running for the positions currently are: Shannon Cregeur-President, Danielle Smith-Vice president,
Sara Klein- Secretary, and Treasurer is still open! There is still time to run for any of these positions. Slating will take
place at the next meeting held on June 16th.
- The winners of
the gas giveaway this week were Kelli Cross and Amber Kortering. Congratulations!
B. Vice President
- The t-shirts have been ordered and are
expected to arrive next week. An email will be sent out to inform you when they will be ready to be picked up.
- We still need
more volunteers for the MI Adventure event! It is LIC approved and will be held on July 19th. It is an all day
event starting approximately around 11:00 am ending around 9:00pm. For each volunteer the SNA is getting paid $7.50/hour.
Activities include: concessions, taking tickets, running game booths and more. This is a great fundraiser and if you are interested
there is a sign up sheet in CHS 305 or contact Danielle at vicepresident.gvsusna@gmail.com.
C. Membership Director

Ginger Lange from GVSU career services will be speaking on June 9th
at 12:00 in room CHS 209. She will talk about
resumes and what career
services all have to offer. This is a great opportunity and everyone is
welcome to come. Also chips and pop will be provided!
D. Community Wellness
- More volunteer
opportunities have been announced.
1. The Ronald McDonald House needs volunteers to help prepare meals, help out during
game and craft night and during group therapy. If interested contact Leah at community.gvsusna@gmail.com.
2. The Habitat for Humanity also needs volunteers. The store called "Restore”
needs volunteers on Tuesdays through Saturdays. There also has been a BLITZ build, with some openings for additional volunteers.
The West Michigan United Methodist Church Annual Conference is taking place June 3-7. Volunteers are needed from 8 AM - 8
PM on W,Th, F, and Sat. Additional help is needed at the following times:
Thurs.
June 5 form 8 AM - 2PM
Fri.
June 6 from 1 PM - 8 PM
Sat.
June 7 from 1 PM - 8 PM

3. The Children’s Assessment Center (CAC) needs volunteers for various events. These include the following:

Abuse Benefit Golf Outing

Tasks: Sit at 1 of 18 holes distributing
drinks, raffle tickets & prizes.
Summer Kick-off Celebration

Tasks: Distribute CAC materials to parents and children/set up& tear down display
Walk in Their Shoes tour

Children's Assessment Center
Supervise children of various ages/play/read/distribute snacks

E. Website
- The Frequently Asked Questions section is now up on the SNA website. It includes
questions like “Do I need to keep my books” or “Can I work during nursing
school.” It is helpful information that most nursing students wonder. If you have any comments or would like to add any questions/answers
