Hey everyone. My name is Joe Ellul and I am originally from Dearborn Heights Michigan. There I come from a very large catholic family, which has become very important to me throughout the years. My love for the health professions has always been evident from an early age, but I decided to become a nurse because I thought that this profession best suited me and my personality. My personal journey towards becoming a nurse is one reason I have become the Breakthrough to Nursing Director here at Grand Valley.  I want to make people as excited as I am to become a nurse.  I want to expose people to the nursing profession that do not have the opportunity to see what nurses do every day. I want future nurses to realize their potential.

Whenever I take a break from nursing school I can usually be found playing just about any sport or playing the piano. I am mostly just a laid back guy doing whatever I can to make someone laugh. If you ever see me around campus don’t be stranger, I’ve always got time.
