Those Present: President-Megan Keller, Vice President- Danielle
Smith, Secretary -Sara Klein, Treasurer-Amy McMillan, Community Wellness - Kimberly Harper, BTN Director- Rachel Johnson,
Evaluations-Annie Chapman, Website- Darin Tharp, Staff Advisor- Ron Perkins, Faculty Advisor - Nancy Schoofs.
Those Absent: Those absent without notice – unexcused were Rachel Kujaczniski, Laura Esese and Christina Yancy.
IV.
Officer Reports:
- There will be a meeting for board members to help transition them into their positions
on April 14th at 11:00. Location – TBA.
- The first meeting for the Spring/Summer semester is May 5th at noon. Location
– TBA.
B.
President
- Megan introduced Jessica
Bos who will be leaving GVSU – KCON in May and is heading to Michigan Tech. We would like to thank Jessica for all she
has done for the nursing program, for students and for the SNA. She will be greatly missed.
- There was a re-voting for
the Award for Excellence and Outstanding Member Award and the winners are Kristen Courteau, Darin Tharp, and Annie Chapman.
These individuals have been voted on by their peers and have been awarded both awards.They will be recognized at the April
26, 2008 Pinning Ceremony @ 3p. Congratulations!
- The members also voted
on two proposed bylaw changes that included Article XIV Section 2 and Article XIII Section 1. Both of these changes were passed.

- A video called “Tap
Dancing & Electrocardiogram: A Snap to Learn” was shown and it demonstrated how the heart pumps regularly and irregularly
through tap dancing.
- We would all like to thank
the board and delegate from NUR 450 for all your great contributions you have made this semester to the SNA. Congratulations
and good luck in the future!!!
B. Vice President
- The Monogolian BBQ event
is on April 13th from 5-8pm. The address of the restaurant is 2619
28th Street SE in Grand Rapids.
You can still purchase tickets for $25 a piece by contacting Danielle Smith at smi5498@student.gvsu.edu or you can come and enjoy yourselves without purchasing a ticket and paying on your own. Either way please let Danielle know
so she can contact the restaurant with a total number of guests. Thanks!
- There are also retractable
name badge holders for $4.00 each. If you are interested in buying one, there will be forms available through the SNA BB site.
You can put the completed forms in the Vice Presidents mail box in CHS room 305 and you will be receiving an email when your
order is ready.
- Volunteers are still needed
at the Pinning Ceremony held on April 26th. You will have to be there at 2:00p and it usually lasts around two
hours. LIC points will be given for this event. If you are interested contact Danielle Smith.
C. Treasurer
- Those who went to convention were reimbursed and the checks
were disbursed at the end of the meeting.
Words
of Wisdom from NUR 450:
- Get involved as much as you can and gain experience here as a
foundation for future nursing organizations.
- You will
get through nursing school- make ties and friendships to
support each other through the hard times.
- Take
your education seriously and take pride in yourselves- learn
as much as you can now while you are in school.
- Take
a deep breath and take it one day at a time.
